The Sanaa International Airport ( Arabic مطار صنعاء الدولي, DMG maṭār Ṣanʿāʾ ad-duwalī ) is one of two international airports in Yemen and the hub of the Yemeni airline Yemenia . It is located about seven kilometers north of the capital Sanaa .

Yemenia flew to Frankfurt am Main , Rome and Paris in September 2014 ; Turkish Airlines also flies twice a week from Frankfurt am Main via Istanbul . Etihad Airways and Emirates have suspended their flights due to the poor security situation.

A Saudi- led military coalition against insurgent Houthis ( Storm of Resolve ) made the runway unusable in late March 2015.
