history

Beginnings

The airfield was created as an agricultural airfield in Güttin with a grass landing area. After the exclusive use for agricultural flights from 1982 to 1990, sightseeing flights over the island were offered for the first time in the summer of 1990 with Let Z-37 and Antonow An-2 machines .

Development from 1990

In the years after 1990 the first flights to Bornholm , Berlin-Tempelhof and Hamburg were added. In May 1993 the 750 m long grass runway was replaced by a 900 m long asphalt runway with associated taxiways . In 1995, a hangar with a floor area of 20 m × 30 m was built and runway lighting with PAPI was installed. In July 1998 the inauguration of a terminal building with tower and restaurant took place. There is also a stationary above-ground tank system for AvGas .

Events

Since 1995, the resident flying club has been holding flight days on the second weekend in July.
