In the anteroom of the museum maps and pictures are shown which put the museum in its historical context. Furthermore, the history of the extraction of resin is shown. The room I deals with the forest history and provides the CVs of the forester in the region since 1815. A focus is the life of Ferdinand von Raesfeld. For example, first editions of his books are shown. The space II shows preparations of wild animals such as raccoons , badgers or bitterns . The room also provides information about the district administrator and forester Franz Mueller-Darß , who worked in the region from 1923 to 1945. In the built-on barn there is an almost complete row of deer discards collected by the forester Klaus Gadow. In addition, red deer trophies and deer horns, including a wig goat from 1914, can be seen. One of these antlers was awarded a gold medal by an international trophy commission. In the former side part of the barn, the bansen, a full-body preparation of two deer in the rut is shown. Hunting magazines report that this preparation is "unique in Europe in terms of fighting". In the background, rutting cries and a von Raesfeld fanfare can be heard, which were composed by Fabian Müller from Dorsten and played by the Leipzig orchestra . In addition, various pull saws , two-man chain saws from 1941 and other exhibits are shown in an exhibition entitled “Saws in forest use” .
