Forum Theater Stuttgart
The Forum Theater is a professional private theater and is located in the center of Stuttgart , in the House of Forum 3 . It has 120 seats.
Legal entity and funding
The legal entity was Forum 3 e. V., since then the Forum Theater has been a gGmbH and is funded by the Culture Office of the City of Stuttgart and the Ministry for Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg .
history
In 1973 something like a theater room was created for the first time: 8 m² stage . Two years later, a theater was founded that is now one of the most respected in Stuttgart: the “tri-stage” .
In 1977, the "German Autumn" , the clown Frieder Nögge († 2001) joined the Forum Theater. 16 productions were created during this time, all of them premieres . In 1982 a new theater was built on the occasion of a major renovation of the entire Forum 3.
In 1987 Nögge went to Hamburg and the actress and Forum 3 founder Elke Woitinas took over the management of the theater , which she still holds today.

The Forum Theater has a base of free, professional actors , directors and stage designers . As a rule, three in-house productions are premiered per season . The program is complemented by guest performances and productions by independent groups that arise in-house.

The spectrum of in-house productions ranges from Goethe's Iphigenie auf Tauris or Monsieur Ibrahim and the flowers of the Koran by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt , to Effi Briest by Theodor Fontane and Copenhagen by Michael Frayn or Judas by Lot Vekemanns to The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint -Exupéry .
The Forum Theater was awarded the Monica Bleibtreu Prize at the Hamburg Privattheatertage in 2016 for its production of The Winter's Tale by William Shakespeare .
All productions have in common that questions and situations are presented that are valid beyond the day. This corresponds to an aesthetic that is contemporary, but not contemporary. The stagings are discussed in the respective features of the Stuttgarter Zeitung and the Stuttgarter Nachrichten .
Guest performances
The clown Dimitri († 2016), the ›Famiglia Dimitri‹ and the Scuola Teatro Dimitri have been or have been an integral part of the program since 1990 .
Once a month find jazz concerts IG JAZZ Stuttgart e. V. takes place in the theater foyer.
