Francesco Benussi (born October 15, 1981 in Mestre ) is an Italian football goalkeeper who is under contract with FC Carpi .

Career

Benussi comes from the youth of AC Venice 1907 . He was taken over to the professional squad by this in 1999 and immediately made seven appearances in Serie A in his debut season . Then he was awarded for three years to AC Lumezzane , Ascoli Calcio and AC Arezzo , he only spent half a year from 2000 to 2003 at AC Venice 1907. In the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons, however, he was one of the an integral part of the team.

In the summer of 2005, Benussi then moved to US Lecce , with whom he was relegated from Serie A in his first season with the Apulians . He played for Lecce for the next two years, except for a short loan to AC Siena . In 2008 they were promoted back to the first division, but relegated immediately. After a short loan to AS Livorno until January 2010, he left the US Lecce and joined the US Palermo . For this he was in the squad until 2013, but was only used sporadically and completed six months on loan at Torino , where he was a regular player. He has been under contract with Udinese Calcio since the 2013/14 season , but is currently only number four in the goalkeeping hierarchy.

Benussi completed six or three games for the U-18s and the U-20s of Italy from 1999 to 2001 .
