Franco Pessina

Franco Pessina (born January 27, 1933 in Lugano ) is a Swiss architect .

Life

Franco Pessina attended high school in Lugano and then completed an apprenticeship as a draftsman in Bellinzona from 1947 to 1951 . Between 1953 and 1961 he ran his own architecture office. From 1962 he worked with Mario Campi and from 1969 to 1983 with Niki Piazzoli . Pessina worked as a lecturer at the ETH Zurich in 1983/84 . In 1984 he was a lecturer at the Ecole d'Architecture in Nancy and between 1985 and 1996 lecturer at the Scuola tecnica superiore of the Canton of Ticino in Lugano-Trevano. Since 1997 he has been running his own architecture office in Lugano again.

  • Conversion of the Castello di Montebello into the Museo Civico
  • 1975: School in Caslano
  • 1981: Casa Boni and 1985 terraced houses in Via Cabione in Massagno
  • 1988–1990: Chapel of Nostra Signora di Fatima in Giova fraction of the municipality of Buseno , with Mario Campi,
  • 1992–1996: Apartment building in Via Beltramina in Lugano (together with Mario Campi)
  • 2001: Third expansion phase of the ETH Zurich on the Hönggerberg (chemistry and materials department).
