Frank Weymann

Frank Weymann (* 1948 in Leipzig ; † 1997 ) was a German writer .

Live and act

Frank Weymann attended the advanced secondary school in Leipzig from 1963 to 1967 with a vocational training as a mechanical engineer . He then studied medicine at the University of Rostock and worked as a doctor in Rostock . In 1979 he was with the work investigations on Asbestosesituation among shipyard members Dr. med. PhD .

Weymann began to write while studying. His first stories were published in GDR magazines and anthologies . In his book Der Erbe , first published in 1978 , he reflects on youth experiences as a high school student and a young doctor in seven stories. The book was published in seven editions.

Weymann wrote short stories, novels, travelogues and several children's books, which were illustrated by Peter Uhde, Barbara Schumann, Feliks Büttner and above all the cartoonist Peter Bauer .

In 1997 Frank Weymann was killed in a car accident. He was married to Hannelore Weymann.

WeymannBauer Verlag

In 1991, Weymann founded the WeymannBauer Verlag OHG together with Peter Bauer , which was converted into a GmbH in 1992 . The publishing house was based in Leipzig until 1995. In March 1995 he moved his headquarters to Rostock and Frank Weymann became the sole partner.

Well-known authors such as Jürgen Hart , Hans-Otto Dill , Harri Engelmann , Ulf Annel and Horst Köbbert were published in the publishing house .

After Frank Weymann's death, his wife continued to run the publishing house.
