Frank Wiblishauser (born October 18, 1977 in Memmingen ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Wiblishauser played for his hometown club FC Memmingen from the age of five to seventeen before joining the amateurs of Bayern Munich in 1994 . From 1996 to 1998 he was a member of the professional squad, but was never used.

From 2000 to 2006 he was under contract with 1. FC Nürnberg . In his first season in the 2nd Bundesliga , he played 33 times for the “Club” and made it to the Bundesliga . He made his Bundesliga debut on July 28, 2001 (1st matchday) in the 2-0 defeat at Borussia Dortmund ; his first goal - the meanwhile 1: 1 - he scored on October 28, 2001 (11th matchday) in the 1: 3 home defeat against Hertha BSC . Frank Wiblishauser struggled with stubborn injuries during his time in Nuremberg and could no longer play in the first team. With two promotions and one relegation, Wiblishauser played 32 first (1 goal) and 44 second division games as well as one appearance in the DFB Cup competition.

On August 31, 2005 - with a move to Switzerland - he was eligible to play for FC St. Gallen, for which he made his debut on September 11, 2005 (8th matchday) in the 1-0 win in the away game against Neuchâtel Xamax and played 23 league games .

From 2006/07 to 2009/10 - back in Germany - he completed 60 league and 3 DFB Cup games for the second division club TuS Koblenz .

National team

On February 25, 1997, Wiblishauser made his debut in the U-21 national team when they drew 1-1 with Israel in Herzliya . His last of nine games he played on October 13, 1998 in Chișinău in a 2-0 victory over the national team of Moldova. In 1998 he was appointed to the Olympic team five times; for the first time on March 4th in Casablanca in a 1-0 victory over the national team of Morocco. This was followed by matches against national teams from Israel (1: 1), China (1: 1), Brazil (1: 3) and Portugal (0: 1).

Others

After finishing his football career, Wiblishauser completed an apprenticeship as a naturopath and opened his own naturopathic practice in his home town of Memmingen in 2012. He currently trains the district division TV Bad Grönenbach . From the 2017/2018 season he will be the head coach of the Bayern division TSV Kottern .
