Franz-Josef Balke

Franz-Josef Balke (born February 6, 1939 in Paderborn ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

After graduating from secondary school in 1954, Balke trained as a carpenter and became a master carpenter in 1963. From 1965 to 1990 he worked for a component sales department in the field. From 1990 to 1998 he was self-employed.

Balke, a member of the CDU since 1965, sat on the Verler local council from 1975 to 1992 and was a member of the district council in Gütersloh from 1973 . From 1983 to 1988 Balke was deputy district administrator of the Gütersloh district, after which he was district administrator until 1994 . Until 1997 he was again deputy district administrator. Balke was a member of the eleventh and twelfth state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1990 to 2000 . He moved into the state parliament through a direct mandate (constituency Gütersloh 1).
