Franz Hackethal

Franz Hackethal (born December 18, 1891 in Duderstadt im Eichsfeld ; † October 11, 1966 in Münster ) was the first district president in Münster after the Second World War from 1945 to 1956 .

life and work

Before the Second World War, Franz Hackethal was mayor of Dingelstädt (1925–1930), Borghorst (1930–1934) and Ahlen (1934–1937). At the end of 1937 he was retired as an opponent of the regime by the National Socialists.

After the end of the war, the British military government appointed him first on April 17, 1945 as district administrator for the Soest district and on May 15, 1945 as district administrator for the Beckum district . On June 21, 1945 he was appointed - initially provisional - district president in Münster. He held this office until his retirement on December 31, 1956.
