Franz Kehrer

Franz Kehrer (* 1948 in Enneberg , South Tyrol) is a South Tyrolean sculptor.

Life

After finishing secondary school, Kehrer attended the art school in Val Gardena , South Tyrol , which he graduated after three years.

In 1966 he studied for a few months with Augusto Colombo in Milan before he moved to Vienna and was accepted into Fritz Wotruba's master school.

After Wotruba's death in 1975, he stayed as a freelance artist in Vienna until he returned to South Tyrol in 1979 and took over the family farm with his wife, the poet Elfriede Kehrer and their three children. However, Kehrer remained artistically active. One of his most important exhibitions was held in 2010 in the Hofburg Brixen .
