Franz Xaver Bishop

Franz Xaver Bischof (born January 10, 1955 in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Franz Xaver Bischof studied Roman Catholic theology at the University of Lucerne and the University of Paris . From 2004 to 2007, Bishop was professor at the Department of Medieval and Modern Church History at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Bishop has been co-editor of the Zeitschrift für Kirchengeschichte (ZKG) and a member of the editorial team of the Munich Theological Journal (MThZ) since 2008 . He is one of the three editors of the series Munich Church History Studies. New episode . Bishop has been Professor of Church History in the Middle Ages and Modern Times at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich since 2007 . He is a signatory of the memorandum “ Church 2011: A Necessary Awakening ”.
