Fredi Winter (born July 16, 1948 in Neuwied ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 2006 to 2019 .

Fredi Winter is married, has two grown children and two grandchildren.

Professional background

Fredi Winter attended the Catholic elementary school Marienschule in Neuwied from 1955 to 1963. In 1963 he began an administration apprenticeship with the Neuwied city administration. After completing the 1st and 2nd administrative examinations, he made a name for himself in the “Office for City Marketing” as the organizer of the Deichstadtfest. As a councilor he headed the tourism department of the city of Neuwied until 2006.

From 1990 to 2006 he was and since 2014 he has been a member of the district council of the Neuwied district . Since 2009 he has been a member of the Neuwied city council and deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

Since 2010 he has been the district chairman of the SPD in the Neuwied district association.

In 2006 , 2011 and 2016 he won the direct mandate for the Neuwied constituency in the state elections . On June 7, 2019, he resigned from the state parliament, his successor is Sven Lefkowitz .

voluntary work

In the 1990s, Fredi Winter was the hall speaker of the EHC Neuwied . Trade journalists voted him Germany's best hall speaker at the time. As an honorary officer, he is a member of the honor guard of the city of Neuwied and its meeting president.

Since 1988 he has been chairman of the district or presidium of the AWO district association in Neuwied.
