Fredric Lehne (born February 3, 1959 in Buffalo , New York ), also Fredric Lane , is an American actor .

Life

Fredric Lehne has appeared in over 200 films , series and mini-series, although he only played supporting roles in most of the films . His best known role is that of Marshal Edward Mars in Lost . There, however, he only plays in the flashbacks of Kate Austen , who was played by Evangeline Lilly . He played other well-known roles in Men in Black , Con Air , Babylon 5 , Firefly - The Dawn of the Serenity , American Horror Story , A Normal Family , Dallas , Murder Is Her Hobby , Supernatural and Welcome Mr. Chance . He also took on guest roles in The Mentalist , Malcolm in the Middle , Navy CIS and Criminal Minds .
