Free development of personality

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Article 2 of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany guarantees the free development of personality .

This happens on the one hand through the general freedom of action , on the other hand in connection with Art. 1 Abs. 1 GG through the general personal right or the right to informational self-determination .

The development of personality is a worthwhile, if not the highest good within the framework of a radically humanistic worldview . Erich Fromm, for example, sees in his work to have or to be the development of one's own personality and that of one's fellow human beings as the highest goal of human life.
