The journal Freikirchenforschung is an annual theological journal that focuses on the history of the free churches . The geographical focus is on the German-speaking area. FF or FKF are suggested as abbreviations .

Basically, the presentations at the conferences that the publishing association holds twice a year are documented. Under the title Freikirchliche perspectives are beyond research reports and essays published. A number of reviews and a bibliography on theology and history of the free churches are also included.
