Frida Margareta Nevalainen (born January 27, 1987 in Umeå ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who was active between 2001 and 2013 for MODO Hockey , IF Björklöven and Segeltorps IF in the top Swedish league, today's Riksserien .
Career
Frida Nevalainen comes from the offspring IF Björklöven and in 2003 she was the second woman to take part in the traditional TV swaddling tournament. She was also the first woman to represent the province of Västerbotten . In 2006 she was Swedish runner-up with MODO Hockey. In the 2007-08 season, Nevalainen played for the University of Windsor . Nevalainen was also the first Swedish female ice hockey player to compete in the Russian women's ice hockey championship, winning the 2011 Russian championship with Tornado Moskovskaya Oblast .
At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , she won the silver medal in the Olympic ice hockey tournament with the Swedish women's national team . She also won two bronze medals at ice hockey world championships . After the 2012/13 season, she ended her career after 235 international matches in which she scored 17 goals.
Her twin brother Patrik and her brother Joakim are also ice hockey players.
