Friedhelm Renno (born September 8, 1940 ) is a former German football player and coach. He played in the position of goalkeeper .

Career

Renno began his career in 1949 at VfB 03 Bielefeld . He played in various national teams, such as the Westphalia, West German and German amateur national teams. With Arminia Bielefeld , where he played in the first team in the early 1960s, he became Westphalian champion in 1962 and made it to the 2nd Division West . A year later, 1962/63, Renno qualified with 29 league appearances under the coaches Jakob Wimmer (20 games) and Hellmut Meidt (ten games) with Arminia as seventh in the table for the newly created Regionalliga West .

However Renno joined the 1963-64 season to the third division , Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where he to the Meidericher SV in the Bundesliga exchanged Manfred Manglitz to replace. At first, Renno was a regular in Leverkusen. In the debut year of the then second-rate Regionalliga West, 1963/64, he reached 12th place with players such as Werner Biskup , Werner Görts and Hans-Otto Peters under coach Fritz Pliska . From 1967 he was only a reservist behind the Mannheim newcomer Hans Benzler . When the team won the championship in 1967/68 with coach Theo Kirchberg , he only came to a league appearance on the ninth match day, October 8, 1967, in a 2-0 home win against Westfalia Herne, because he had a dislocated ankle fracture for almost a year had to pause. He had his last three regional league appearances in the 1968/69 round, where, in addition to Benzler, the young Dieter Ferner also belonged to the Bayer goalkeeper trio.

Renno ended his active career in the summer of 1969 and coached the Bayer 04 Leverkusen A-youth team. He completed 81 regional league games. In the 1973/74 season Renno coached the first team from Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Mittelrhein Association League . With this team he was Middle Rhine Champion and played for the German Amateur Championship .
