Friedrich Albert Groeteken (born May 12, 1878 in Bochum ; † October 26, 1961 in Bad Godesberg - Plittersdorf ) was a German priest , teacher , author and local history researcher .

Life

Friedrich Albert Groeteken was born on May 12, 1878 in Bochum. In 1904 Groeteken received after theology and philology study the priesthood . After further years of study at foreign universities, he received his doctorate in theology in 1914 and then also a doctorate in philosophy.

Groeteken worked in school from 1913 until his retirement in 1930. First as a teacher in Hamm and Dortmund . In 1916 he moved to Fredeburg in the Sauerland as vicar and head of a higher city school . After his retirement in 1930 he moved to Godesberg. Until his death, Groeteken worked in Godesberg as an author, assistant chaplain and in local research. Friedrich Albert Groeteken was buried on October 26, 1961 with great sympathy from the population.

Friedrich Albert Groeteken wrote a total of 195 articles and 38 books. In 1921 he published the first Sauerland home calendar De Suerländer - home calendar for the Kurköln Sauerland .
