Friedrich Christoph Hausmann
Friedrich Christoph Hausmann (born June 23, 1860 in Vienna , † October 23, 1936 in Bad Soden ) was an Austrian sculptor .
Life
Hausmann studied from 1879 to 1882 at the Vienna Academy a . a. with Professor Edmund von Hellmer (1851–1935). In 1888 he used his scholarships for stays in Asia Minor and Italy. In 1891 he moved to Frankfurt am Main and directed the modeling class at the School of Applied Arts. From 1892 to 1905 he headed the Städelschule's sculpture school . He mainly created decorative sculptures and portrait sculptures, for example by Clara Schumann , Leopold Sonnemann and Johann Christian Senckenberg . Between 1894 and 1907 his works were often shown at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition. He also designed the fairy tale fountain next to the theater and the Gans mausoleum in Frankfurt's main cemetery . From 1904 he lived in Bad Soden am Taunus, where he also died and is buried.

Hausmann has received grants and awards including:
- He received the Grillparzer-Fröhlich grant for the sculpture group Achilles and Penthesilea
- In 1888 he received the Michel Beersehen Prize from the Berlin Academy for his relief battle of the Amazon .
