Career

Friedrich Köck became middle school master in 1913 with the Schüttler Realgymnasium and soon afterwards was still sixteen in the first war championship in 1914/15 for the WAC in the first class , which he completed victoriously with the club. Before he was called up, the young player also made his international debut on October 1, 1916 in a 3-2 win against Hungary in Budapest at the side of club colleague Johann Studnicka . After the end of the war, Friedrich Köck became one of the most important players at the WAC, where he formed the inner storm with Josef Wana and Karl Dürschmied .

After only one season, however, he was poached in 1920/21 by the up-and-coming Wiener Amateur-SV , where he was a regular player as a winger with partner Ferdl Swatosch for the next three years . His debut in 1920 with four goals in a 5-1 win against Wacker in his first league game was exemplary. Ironically, in his 50th league game in a purple dress, he was seriously injured against Vienna in 1923, which practically ended his career.

With the violets he was able to win the ÖFB Cup in 1921 and only just missed his second championship in second in 1921 and 1923. Kálmán Konrád and Franz Hansl were the top scorers of the team and league these days. Before his injury, Friedrich Köck also played six more international matches after the end of the war, with a goal in Milan in a 3: 3 against Italy . Other highlights were another away win in Budapest with a 2-1 win and the 7-1 win against Switzerland .
