Friedrich Uhlhorn (theologian)

Friedrich Uhlhorn (born April 17, 1860 in Hanover , † May 10, 1937 in Hann. Münden ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran pastor, theologian and church historian .

Life

The son of the court preacher, abbot of Loccum and senior consistorial councilor Gerhard Uhlhorn (1826–1901) spent his school days at the grammar schools in Hanover and Celle . Then he studied theology and economics in Gießen , Erlangen , Göttingen and Berlin . In 1889 Friedrich Uhlhorn became pastor in Lauenförde . Eight years later he took over the work of pastor in Hamelin and carried it out until 1921. He then took a job in Meensen ; In 1931 Uhlhorn retired. Among other things, Uhlhorn introduced parish districts in Hameln, regulated poor relief and looked after several church associations.

He was the father of the historian Friedrich Uhlhorn .
