Fritz Arend
Fritz Arend (* 1937 in Saarbrücken ; † 1998 in Karlsruhe ) was a German painter , glass painter and picture maker .
Life
Fritz Arend studied from 1957 to 1965 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe with Emil Wachter and Georg Meistermann, among others . W. Brücklmeier introduced him to the technique of picture knitting. He achieved success with the implementation of his pictures in tapestries.
Fritz Arend died in Karlsruhe in 1998.

Arend's large-format Icarus hung in the entrance area of the Baden State Museum for many years . His last commission, the execution of which did not go beyond the drafts, was the federal eagle in the Federal Constitutional Court .
