Fritz Corterier

Fritz Corterier (born July 19, 1906 in Wunstorf / Province of Hanover , † April 27, 1991 in Bad Wildbad ) was a German SPD politician .

Life and work

After attending Realschule and Oberrealschule , Corterier, who was a Protestant , completed a commercial apprenticeship by 1927. After studying economics in Berlin and Mannheim and at the Université Poitiers Indre et Loire , Corterier worked as a freelance journalist and from 1933 as a management consultant. He lost his teaching positions at the University of Heidelberg and the local commercial college there in 1933 for political reasons. He was a soldier in World War II.

Political party

Corterier had been a member of the SPD since 1929 and, during his studies, also a member of the socialist student body and the "German Republican University Association". He was also involved in the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold . In 1949 he became chairman of the SPD in Karlsruhe . In 1962/63 and 1966/67 he was deputy federal chairman of the working group of the self-employed in the SPD.

MP

Corterier was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1969. From October 4, 1967 to January 21, 1970 he was also a member of the European Parliament .

His son Peter Corterier was also a member of the Bundestag .

Honors

Fritz Corterier was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 1968 and the Medal of Honor of the City of Karlsruhe in 1981.
