Fritz Oak

Fritz Eiche (born August 9, 1902 in Gresgen , † November 26, 1967 in Basel ) was a German politician ( KPD ).

Oak initially worked as a textile worker and later as a trade union secretary. He joined the Socialist Workers' Youth in 1919 and joined the SPD , from which he transferred to the KPD in 1923. During the Weimar Republic he was a city councilor in Zell im Wiesental . In 1931 he was sentenced by the State Court of Justice to 21 months of imprisonment for "preparing for high treason", which he served in Rastatt . During the Nazi era , he was interned in the Heuberg and Kislau concentration camps.

From 1947 until his resignation in February 1951, Eiche was a member of the Baden state parliament for the KPD . Until 1962 he was again city councilor in Zell im Wiesental.
