Fritz Huf

Fritz Huf ( August 14, 1888 in Lucerne - December 14, 1970 in Gentilino ) was a Swiss sculptor , painter and draftsman .

Life

After two apprenticeships as a banker and goldsmith, Huf attended evening classes at the Lucerne School of Applied Arts from 1906 to 1909 . In 1911 he went to Frankfurt am Main with his girlfriend Sophie van Leer (until 1914). This was followed by activities in Berlin (1914–1918), Geneva (1919–1920), again in Berlin (1921–1924), then in France (1924–1940), in Lucerne (1940–1944), in Geneva (1944– 1952) and in Rome (1952–1956). From 1957 he was in Lugano , where he died in 1970 at the age of 82.

In 1916 he was also in the silent film The Yoghi of Paul Wegener as God Shiva to see.
