Fritz Paulus

Fritz Paulus (* 1918 in Landsberg am Lech ; † 1982 ) was a Landsberg painter.

Life

Fritz Paulus' first watercolors and oil paintings were created between 1935 and 1938, which were exhibited in Rosenheim . From 1945 he became a member of the Landsberg / Ammersee artists' guild and took part in the annual exhibitions. In 1947 Paulus was a student of Prof. Albert Stagura (1866–1947) and Ludwig von Schlieben .

In 1948 he had an exhibition of four in the Landsberg am Lech town hall (with Adolf Reidel, Schmals, Ida Spring-Schmitt). From 1948 Paulus was a member of the artist community "Die Frauenwörther" on Frauenchiemsee and participated in the annual exhibitions on the Fraueninsel. In 1951 Paulus had an exhibition in Hamburg and in 1952 exhibitions at Hanfstaengel in Munich as well as a collection exhibition in the Schöninger Gallery in Munich. In the same year he made a trip to East Frisia and stayed on the islands for some time. An exhibition in The Hague followed in 1953 . Between 1953 and 1955 Paulus made several stays in Italy until he had a collection exhibition in the Kunstsalon Emmer in Karlsruhe in 1955. From 1957 Paulus took part continuously in the exhibitions in the pavilion in the old botanical garden in Munich.

In 1962 he went on a study trip to Italy and in 1963 to Czechoslovakia. In 1965 Paulus had a collection exhibition in the building center in Munich and in 1967 an exhibition in the Hausmann gallery in Augsburg. From 1972 to 1977 he stayed in Greece several times until 1977, 1978 and 1980 he had collection exhibitions in the Huber Gallery in Landsberg am Lech, in the German Patent Office and in the permanent art exhibition of Krauss-Maffei AG. A year later, in 1981, an exhibition followed in the Hofgartengalerie in Munich.

He mainly painted in oil, his subjects are seascapes and harbors. In 1960 he developed a process for the production of panel paintings - at this time he switched to non-representational painting. His numerous study trips abroad influenced his motifs as well as his style. Countless exhibitions, especially in Munich , make him a notable painter on the Munich art scene.
