From Generation to Generation is an American short documentary from 1959. The 12-minute film was directed by Francis Thompson . The script and animation are from Philip Stapp .
action
The film follows the lives of a farmer, his wife and their four-year-old son on a farm in Pennsylvania . The farm does not yet have access to electricity, and light after dark is only provided by gas lamps. In an animated form, the family's life cycle is traced over all four seasons, including the farmer's pregnancy. This is done in a subtle way, so that the American Maternity Center Association agreed to take over the distribution of the film.
Award
From Generation to Generation was nominated in 1960 for an Oscar in the category “Best Documentary Short Film” .
