The South Asian Football Championship , engl. : South Asian Football Federation Cup (SAFF Cup), or earlier South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup , has been a biennial football tournament of the South Asian Football Federation since 1993 to determine the official South Asian champions. In 1993 the competition was called the South Asian Association of Regional Co-operation Gold Cup and in 1995 the South Asian Gold Cup .
The countries that have participated so far have been Afghanistan , Bangladesh , Bhutan , India , the Maldives , Nepal , Pakistan and Sri Lanka .
India is the record winner with seven wins. The current title holders are the Maldives.
