Fujiwara no Ietaka

Fujiwara no Ietaka ( Jap. 藤原家隆 , or in a respectful reading Fujiwara no karyu * 1158 , † 5. May 1237 ) was a Japanese Waka - poet . He was also called Mibu Nihon ( 壬 生 二 品 ).

Life

Fujiwara was the son-in-law of the poet Jakuren (Fujiwara no Sadanaga). He was one of the group of poets who created the anthology of poetry Shinkokin-wakashū at the court of Emperor Go-Toba . A collection of his own poems appeared under the title Mini-shū ( 壬 二 集 ) or Gyokugin Shū . More than 280 of his poems have been included in the Senzai-shū ( 千載 集 ) and other imperial poetry collections. He held the "next second court rank ".
