Fumio Watanabe

Fumio Watanabe ( Japanese 渡 辺 文 雄 , Watanabe Fumio ; born October 31, 1929 in Tokyo , † August 4, 2004 ) was a Japanese actor .

Life

After studying at the University of Tokyo , he began his film career in 1956 in the Shochiku studio . From then until 2001 he worked in over 80 films and television series, including the first two films in the Sasori series with Meiko Kaji , in which he played the sadistic prison director Goda. He also appeared in commercials for Kikkoman and Taiho.

He was friends with Clive Williams Nicol .

In 2004 he died of liver cancer .
