Football Lexicon

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The football lexicon is a German-language reference work in the field of football .

The work by Bernd Rohr and Günter Simon was first published in 1987 under the name Lexikon Fußball at the Bibliographisches Institut in Leipzig. In 1991 it was taken over under its current title by the publishing house Copress Sport , which published it in an updated edition in 1993 and in a revised and expanded edition in 2004.

The reference work includes over 5000 key words on technical terms, national and international clubs and associations, players, coaches, referees, officials, associations and competitions. In addition, the entire set of rules is shown. The lexicon is preceded by a chronological history of football .

Critics criticize the non-existent literature references for articles as well as a missing bibliography in the appendix.
