Göte Augustin Almqvist (born June 25, 1921 in Skellefteå ; † December 21, 1994 there ) was a Swedish ice hockey player .
Career
At club level, Göte Almqvist played exclusively for his home club Skellefteå AIK . From 1949 to 1960 he entered with his team in Division 1 , the then highest Swedish league.
International
For Sweden Almqvist took part in the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo , where he and his team won the bronze medal. As the best European team, Sweden also became European champions. He was also in his country's squad at the 1953 and 1954 World Championships . At the 1953 World Cup he won the gold medal with Sweden and was also European champion with his country. At the 1954 World Cup, he and his team won the bronze medal.
