Günter Dreibrodt
Günter Dreibrodt (born July 26, 1951 in Roßlau ) is a former handball player .
With SC Magdeburg , the backcourt player was a total of seven GDR champions . He also won the European Champions Cup with Magdeburg in 1978 and 1981.
Together with his teammates from Magdeburg Ernst Gerlach , Hartmut Krüger , Wieland Schmidt and Ingolf Wiegert , he formed the basic structure of the GDR team that became Olympic champion at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow . He also reached third place at the handball world championship with the GDR national team in 1978 . He played a total of 186 internationals in which he threw 691 goals. In 1980 he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver and in 1984 in gold.
