Günter Langen

Günter Langen (born October 12, 1935 in Düsseldorf ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1990 to 2005 .

education and profession

Langen moved with his family to Medebach in the Sauerland during the Second World War . Because his father could no longer work in his old job and the apartment in Düsseldorf was destroyed by bombs, the family stayed in the Sauerland after the end of the war. Günter Langen received his secondary school leaving certificate in 1953 . He then completed an apprenticeship in wholesale and foreign trade in Hamburg . After training in a tea and coffee shop , he returned to Medebach to get married and in 1959 to found the Langen coffee roasting company as an independent businessman .

politics

Günter Langen has been a member of the CDU since 1962. He was chairman of the CDU district association Hochsauerlandkreis from 1985 to 2000. He was a member of the city council of Medebach from 1964 to 1999 and chairman of the CDU council group from 1969 to 1975. He was elected honorary mayor of the city of Medebach in 1975 and held this office until 1998. From 1975 to 1993, Langen was a member of the district council of Hochsauerlandkreis. Today he is honorary chairman of the CDU district association Hochsauerlandkreis.

Günter Langen was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 31, 1990 to June 2, 2005 . He was directly elected three times in a row in his constituency : 1990 and 1995 in constituency 143 ( Hochsauerlandkreis II ), in 2000 in constituency 142 ( Hochsauerlandkreis I - Soest III ). For the state election in 2005 he was no longer a candidate.
