Günther Dohmen

Günther Dohmen (born April 8, 1926 in Heidelberg ) is a German educationalist .

Life

In 1946 he took up the study of German language and literature , history , English literature , philosophy and pedagogy in Heidelberg on. As representatives of the student he participated in the Parliamentary Council in Bonn the drafting of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany some Dohmen received his doctorate in 1951 in Heidelberg with the dissertation The importance of the "poetic education drive" for the self Goethe Dr. phil. 1953-1956 he was teacher at the Charles-Gymnasium in Stuttgart . In 1963 he completed his habilitation in Tübingen . From 1963 until his retirement in 1994, he taught and researched as a professor of educational science at the University of Tübingen.

From 1969 to 1974 he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .

For his 80th birthday, former students and staff had put together a website with details of his résumé, publications, interviews, awards and honors.

In 1994 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class .
