Gaalkacyo
Gaalkacyo (also written Galcaio or Galkayo ; Italian Rocca Littorio ) is a city with about 62,000 inhabitants in central Somalia . It is inland and is the capital of the Mudug region .
Gaalkacyo is divided into two parts: While the southern part of the city is the administrative seat of Galmudug , the northern part is part of the internationally not recognized Puntland . The city is one of the most developed in the region; schools have been built and a large airport is in the planning stage.
