Gabriel Vallejo

Gabriel Vallejo (* 1971 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine composer, pianist and guitarist.

Vallejo first played the guitar before studying piano from the age of twelve. In addition to classical music, he was also interested in jazz, tango and Latin American music. In 1995 he received the title of Profesor Nacional de Piano . He completed his training with Bernard Maury , Gustavo Beytelmann , Adrián Iaies , Edgardo Beilin and Susana Bonora . He also studied composition, counterpoint and harmony with Roque de Pedro and Rodolfo Daluicio . After moving to Paris in 1998, he continued his training with Pierre Bertrand (jazz arrangement) and Philippe Capdenat and Michel Connesson (orchestration).

Vallejo has performed as a member of various jazz, tango and Latin music ensembles in Europe and Argentina. As a piano soloist, he gave concerts and participated in festivals in France, Spain, Germany and Argentina. Between 2001 and 2008 he also worked as a jazz pianist for the Holland America and Costa Cruises cruise lines .

He also works as a pianist for the International Dance Academy and the American Dance Academy and has accompanied dancers such as Monique Arabian , Yvonne Meyer , Jennifer Goubé , Gailene Stock , Sarah Rayna , Gerard Sibbritt , Sherry Sable , Alice Psaroudaki , Gilles Guillaumes and Stephan Prince . Vallejo composed music for string orchestras, jazz bands and various chamber music ensembles. Commissioned by Marie-Claude de Ribaut and Catherine de Neuville , he composed dance pieces for the piano. His incidental music for Between Anger and Nostalgia premiered in 2010 at the Colonie Espagnole Theater in Beziers.
