Gabriele Wenzel

Gabriele Wenzel (* 1958 ) is a German Egyptologist , ethnologist and writer .

Life

In addition to Egyptology and ethnology, Gabriele Wenzel also studied prehistory and early history and then worked for the Egyptian Museum in Munich for several years . There she designed and supervised special exhibitions, among other things. In 1990 she worked in the “Egyptian Department” of the International Ceramics Museum in Weiden on the conception, furnishing and support and also gave lectures in all areas of “Egyptian culture”. At the same time, she made guided tours for children and adults on all topics in the museum education department in the Munich headquarters , but mainly in the area of Egyptian hieroglyphs . From 1997 to 2000 she was the Egyptologist in charge of excavations in the Nile Delta , which were carried out there by the University of Potsdam as part of an excavation and documentation project in Bubastis . Since 1997 she has been a freelancer for Bayerischer Rundfunk .
