Gabriele von Gemmingen-Guttenberg

Gabriele von Gemmingen-Guttenberg born. von Lersner (born September 17, 1935 in Stuttgart ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

She is the daughter of the Upper Government Agriculture Councilor Albert Freiherr von Lersner and Clotilde von Groll. She spent her childhood in Vienna, where her father was in the civil service. After the end of the war, she came to Hohenroden Castle near Essingen with her mother and five siblings , later the family moved to the grandmother's house in Stuttgart , where she graduated from high school in 1956. She then worked as an au pair in Lyon before completing an exam as a physiotherapist in Freiburg im Breisgau . A little later she got engaged to Christoph von Gemmingen-Guttenberg (1930-1999), son of Gustav von Gemmingen-Guttenberg , whom she married in 1961 in Essingen. She took over the housekeeping at Guttenberg Castle and gave birth to five children between 1963 and 1973.

In addition to working in the household and in the castle museum founded by her father-in-law at Guttenberg Castle, as well as raising the children, she also devoted herself to work in church and political bodies. Because of her engagement in the women's work of the Evangelical Church, she was elected to the regional committee of the Evangelical Church in Baden , where she was a delegate of the regional women's council. In 1989 she was elected to the district council of the Neckar-Odenwald district for the CDU . She initiated the founding of the Neckar-Odenwald district's women's and children's shelter in 1994 and the day-care mothers' association in 1999, and was on the board of the women's union and at the CDU local and district association.

In 2010, at a suggestion by MdL Peter Hauk , Friedlinde Gurr-Hirsch awarded her the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her decades of commitment to local politics and the church.

In 2012 she was elected deputy chairwoman of the newly founded senior citizens' union in the Neckar-Odenwald district.
