Gabriella Rosaria Cristiani (born May 21, 1949 in Foggia , Province of Foggia , Italy ) is an Italian film editor who won several other film awards for the film editing of The Last Emperor (1987) in addition to an Oscar for best editing .

Life

Gabriella Cristiani began her career as an editor in the film industry in 1969 for the film Metti, una sera a cena and has been involved in the production of more than thirty films to date.

She celebrated her greatest international success with the editing of The Last Emperor (1987) by Bernardo Bertolucci with John Lone , Joan Chen and Peter O'Toole in the leading roles : For this she won the Oscar for best editing, the Eddie, at the 1988 Academy Awards the American Cinema Editors (ACE) for the best film editing, the David di Donatello for the best editing and the Silver Ribbon for the best editing, the Nastro d'Argento of the Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani (SNGCI).

She was also nominated for the British Academy Film Award for best editing .
