Gaby Berger (born January 14, 1952 in Überlingen ) is a German pop singer who became known in the late 1960s and was able to hold onto the pop market for a few years.

Life

Gaby Berger sang in the school band "The Briskers" during her school days. Later she was presented by director Dieter Pröttel in the talent shed . She then got a record deal and in 1969 was able to record her first single, The Big Fish . The song was already a success, so that she was able to participate in the German Schlager competition in the same year . There she sang the title When someone promises you 1000 kisses . Although she didn't win, the song made it into the charts and sold the single over 100,000 times. So she was chosen as one of the best young singers. The later internationally well-known producer and composer Giorgio Moroder was one of the young artist's producers.

With her other recordings, Berger appeared in several television programs such as ZDF Hitparade , Current Schaubude or Die Drehscheibe . In 1971 Berger was the representative of Germany at the Festival Internacional de la Cancion Atlantico in Tenerife . In the same year she had another hit with Two Tickets for the Cinema . Both this title and When someone promises you 1000 kisses are still occasionally played at requested concerts on the radio. After 1974 Berger did not record any more records for almost 30 years; she went into a civil profession. In July 2001 and May 2002 a new maxi-CD was released . On it is the new title Sometimes the stars dream and a new version of their hit from 1969 When someone promises you 1000 kisses .
