Gail Tremblay
Gail Tremblay (born December 15, 1945 in Buffalo ) is an author from the Mi'kmaq Indian people who lives in the USA . She also has French and Onondaga ancestors.
Gail Tremblay studied drama at the University of New Hampshire and creative writing at the University of Oregon . She has received numerous awards, but is also known as a visual artist. In doing so, she has always referred to her cultural heritage. Since 1981 she has taught at Evergreen State College in Olympia , Washington State .
Her best-known works include: Close to Home , Omaha 1981, Indian Singing in Twentieth Century America , Corvallis 1990, 1998 as Indian Singing, Revised Edition at Calyx Books, and Night Gives Women the Word , Omaha 1979.
