The Gander Lake is a lake in the north of the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .
Gander Lake has an area of 113.2 km². The 29 m high elongated lake has a length of 54 km and a maximum width of 2.7 km. The mean water depth is 105.4 m, the maximum water depth is 288 m. The catchment area of the lake covers 4160 km². The small town of Gander is on the north bank . The rivers Northwest Gander River and Southwest Gander River flow into the western end of the lake . The lake is drained by the Gander River . This leaves the lake at the end of a bay on the western north shore.
