Garðar Jóhannsson (born April 1, 1980 in Garðabær ) is an Icelandic football player .

Career

In the Icelandic league system and in the Icelandic Cup, the striker completed 88 games for UMF Stjarnan , Valur Reykjavík and KR Reykjavík , in which he scored a total of 40 goals. In 2006 Garðar moved to Norway, where he played 58 times in three Tippeligaen seasons for Fredrikstad FK and scored 18 goals until he was initially without a club after the 2009 season . In January 2010 he then completed a trial training at FC Hansa Rostock , after which he was signed by the German second division team . With Helgi Daníelsson , Rostock signed another Icelander at the same time. Nevertheless, Hansa rose to the end of the 2009/10 season for the first time in the 3rd division , which Garðar Jóhansson's contract lost its validity after only six months.

Garðar Jóhannsson then moved back to his Icelandic homeland in early August 2010, where he came to three missions for Stjarnan Garðabær in the 2010 season. However, his contract contained a clause that enabled him to leave the club in the event of a corresponding foreign offer, which Garðar used after only one month and was loaned to the Norwegian Strømsgodset IF , which played in the Tippeligaen in 2010 and was able to win the Norwegian Cup competition .

For the Icelandic national football team Garðar ran from 2008 to 2009 in six games, scoring two goals.
