The garden slipper flower ( Calceolaria integrifolia , Syn .: Calceolaria rugosa ) is a plant species in the genus of the slipper flower ( Calceolaria ) from the family of the slipper family (Calceolariaceae). Their hybrids are mainly found in parks and gardens, as ornamental plants .
description
The wild form grows as a small shrub that can reach heights of up to 120 cm. The varieties are cultivated as annual or perennial herbaceous plants that reach heights of up to 40 cm. There are varieties that grow upright and those that grow pendulous. The opposite leaves are simple and hairy.
Many flowers are grouped together in inflorescences . The hermaphrodite, zygomorphic flowers are four-fold. The four sepals are green. The four petals are fused and look like little slippers. The dominant color of the petals is yellow. There are only two stamens . There are fruit capsules formed with many tiny seeds.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 18.

The varieties of the garden slipper flower are mainly propagated via seeds and cultivated like annual plants . They have long been part of the range of popular bedding and balcony plants.
