The first reference to the “Schwarzer Bär” inn at the same place comes from the year 1744, when the landlord Georg Bär died. His son-in-law Stephan Siebenborn succeeded him as the landlord of the inn, which was run under the name Gasthaus zum Bären as early as 1745 . In 1746, Siebenborn took over the “Karpfen” inn on the same site , the landlord of which had died in March 1744, and gave up the bear . From 1750 to 1767 Michael Biener was the host of the bear. he had the house rebuilt extensively.

The Huber family ran the inn until the end of the 18th century. In 1799, she had the previous building converted into today's half-timbered house in the classicism style with a noble rendered facade.

The three-storey building rises above a massive ground floor that is clad with elements of red Main sandstone , some of which have been elaborately worked : Below the windows, in the Baroque tradition, there are square mirrors cut in the corners by quarter circles. Are also not yet received from the construction period main door and the door leaf, which with tooth section Detachable skylight is stylish typically formed by four connected longitudinally rings. Above it, the house sign can be seen in a more recent color version , two bears holding an oval, monotonous shield, flanked by the date of construction in the form 17 and 99 .

The eight evenly distributed windows on each floor are closed by segmental arches , but unlike the seven on the ground floor no longer have the original shutters . The individual storeys are separated by strong, but simply profiled cornices with only slightly contrasting colors . Only below the eaves line of the gable roof shows the tooth cut again. It also continues in the central, triangular dwelling with oval windows, each flanked by a porthole .

The room layout and the interior with wood paneling and wooden ceiling date from 1908, when the inside of the house was rebuilt. There are still five vaulted cellars that can be dated to the 17th to 18th centuries.
