Secret Files Sophie treasure is a German documentary from 2009 that produced by ZDF with a length of 45 minutes and for the first time on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at 19.30 at the ZDF as part of Terra X aired. The film authors are Birgit Tanner and Carsten Gutschmidt.

The Sophia treasure consisted of 56 golden grave goods, 100 rings made of pure gold, dozen of bracelets and chains made of gold and enamel and eight gold medal chains. These were additions from princely and civil graves between the 15th and 17th centuries, which had been found in the Dresden Sophienkirche , which was demolished by 1963 . The film documents the robbery on September 20, 1977 from the Dresden City Museum .

According to the film, the robbery is said to have been initiated by Stasi chief Erich Mielke . The GDR had already started treasure hunts in the 1950s , with many art treasures hidden in the Third Reich being found and sold abroad. Alexander Schalck-Golodkowski later managed the robbery and resale of GDR art treasures as part of an " Art and Antiques GmbH ". The film shows the assumption that this could also have been a foreign exchange procurement.

It was not until 1999 that the chief investigator Jürgen Oelsner rediscovered 38 pieces of the Sophia treasure in Oslo , based on drawings by the draftsman Karl-Heinz Sobierajski together with the graphic artist Martin Hänsch, which the city bought back in 2005. The remaining 18 parts of the Sophia treasure, which are still lost, also include a king's chain made of 1.3 kilograms of pure gold.
