Community chancellery

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The offices of a political municipality without its own town hall are referred to as the parish chancellery . In Bavaria in particular , these were common practice in small communities before the municipal reform . In particularly small or financially disadvantaged municipalities , the municipal administration was often housed in the house of the incumbent mayor .

Larger communities often had one or more office rooms in the school house or in the fire station of the volunteer fire brigade , where the mayor and - if available - the community administrative staff went about their official business.

In the absence of a meeting room, meetings of the municipal council often took place in the classroom or in the adjoining room of the village inn.

Community chancelleries still exist today in communities that belong to an administrative community or other community association.

Netherlands

In Dutch municipalities, the parish chancellery supports the local council (municipal parliament) in managing the business, organizing meetings and obtaining / disseminating information. She also co-ordinates with the community secretary to efficiently deal with questions from the community councils regarding the administration.
