The Nuclear Regulation Authority ( Jap. 原子力規制委員会 , dt as "nuclear regulatory committee";. Engl. Nuclear Regulation Authority ) is an independent authority ( gaikyoku , "Foreign Ministry") of the Japanese Ministry of the Environment , the security in the Japanese nuclear power plants regulated and related equipment and monitored. The committee, headquartered in Roppongi , Minato District , Tokyo Prefecture , was set up on September 19, 2012 to strengthen the independence of the nuclear regulator, which was criticized in the wake of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster .
